A film that examines the life of two sisters in an isolated rural Amazigh community in the High Atlas Mountains. Unchanged for hundreds of years despite being confronted with the rapidly changing sociopolitical realities of the country. One teenager must give up school to prepare for her wedding, and the other dreams of being a lawyer. The cinematic language attempts to continue the tradition of oral history used by the Amazigh to recount, preserve and transmit stories. It’s the first part of a triptych that starts in the Atlas Mountains and finishes beyond the borders.
The film screening will be followed by a talk with Sandra Boschert and Barbara Roth (Filme für die Erde)
